The Power in an Encouraging Word

Wow. This blog post could take a while. But, I'll keep it short and sweet. We all know how good it feels to hear an encouraging word from a friend or even a stranger. I can't remember a lot of things, but darned if I don't remember the times someone spoke life into me with an encouraging word ....and usually it was right when I needed it.
So, guys. The.Point.Is. You have power in your words!!!! You also have a lot of power in your response to other people. You matter, and you can literally change someone's world in an instant with just a positive note or gesture. Even when you are having a bad day. We all have bad days, but our feelings don't define who we are and they shouldn't. We are still and will always be RoyalKIND.....and you can choose to Take the Time for someone else, even when you don't feel like it. Hard truth.
So here's some ideas that I think should be on your "speed dial". When people just cross your path or when you are bored, waiting in the carpool line, or just feeling pretty inspired.....check these ideas out and send some encouragement to a friend. I promise you won't regret it.....and you may just find a new little hobby.
@appreciate is a website that sends out words of encouragement. Customize creations on Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter, or send a message directly to a particular individual.
Scroll down your text message feed. Send a note to a friend you haven't talked to in a while just to say hey and check in with them.
Smile and look your grocery clerk, bank teller, mailman, waitress, etc (everyday people that cross into your life path) in eye. Be super intentional with strangers or friends. Take a one minute genuine interest in them and ask them how they are. Ask them where they are from or if they are in school in your local town. You never know the impact your one minute conversation can have on their life.
Say "hey" to your neighbors when you see them outside. Take the Time to walk over and check on them. It's three to five minutes out of your day that will end up blessing you both. Realize that someone needs what you have to offer.
These are just a few to start with, you're probably more creative than me and could come up with some other great ones on your own.
